Research into similar title sequences
I have already researched into the first couple of minutes and overall similarities in different films but I haven't yet looked into similar title sequences, from what I understand there are a few key area to analyse when going through a title sequence:
Genre conventions:
things that are associated with the genre of the film and help an audience to identify it from a different sub genre E.G. you can tell a paranormal horror from a generic slasher because a paranormal slasher would usually be about a ghost or demon whereas a generic slasher is about a murderer such as Freddy Kruger or Jason voorhees.
Iconography:
Things that are usually associated with the film in a visual way E.G. the hokey mask and machete being used by Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th and the kitchen knife used by Michael Myers in Halloween.
